| Jim Conway is Director of Labor Relations for
the Bay Area Association of SMACNA Chapters, headquartered in
Oakland and providing labor relations and association services
for approximately 250 sheet metal, heating and air conditioning
firms in Northern California. He has been with the Association
for 22 years. He serves as a Trustee and Committee Member on the Sheet
Metal Workers Local 104 Health Care Plan, Local Supplemental
Pension, Northern California Pension Plan and as an alternate
Trustee on the Sheet Metal Workers Local 104 and Bay Area
Industry Training Fund. An advocate of career technical
education, he chaired the City of Oakland’s Apprenticeship
Advisory Committee, and has also worked with the San Leandro and
West Contra Costa Schools Districts. Jim is also involved in the
Bay Area SMACNA Scholarship Fund, SMWIA Local 104 Scholarship
Fund and Joint Marketing Committee with SMWIA Local 104.
Jim’s involvement with the California Health Care Coalition
is a natural outgrowth of his role as a Health Care Trustee, and
he shares the CHCC’s vision for quality health care and cost
transparency.
Jim was born in Oakland, CA and currently resides in
Danville, CA with his wife, Mary. He graduated summa cum laude
from California State University East Bay with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Mass Communication.
