Cindy Young
| Cindy Young has been involved in
the labor movement for over 26 years. She first served as a shop
steward at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, where she was a
picket captain during the 1980 hotel strike. She then joined
H.E.R.E. Local 2 in 1982, serving as Director of Research, with
a major focus on health, pension and education issues for 4,000
hotel and restaurant workers. For the past 15 years, she has
worked for the California School Employees Association, serving
as a health policy advocate for 225,000 classified school
employees in California’s public schools. She also serves as the
founding Co-Chair of the California Education Coalition for
Health Care Reform. |
