Doctors Medical Center Model Direct Hospital Contract and
Pay for Quality Improvement (PQI) Initiative
The residents of Modesto have had limited access to quality hospital
care at reasonable cost. To help remedy this problem, CHCC members and
member-eligible purchasers with plan beneficiaries in the Modesto area
may take advantage of CHCC’s Pay for Quality Improvement (PQI) program
and Direct Hospital Contract (Model Agreement) with Doctors Medical
Center (DMC) in Modesto, California.
Our agreement with DMC focuses on:

Quality improvement: achieving tangible improvements in the
quality of health care services provided to Modest area residents;
Performance transparency: assuring transparency in quality
reporting and improvement and in the financial transactions between
our members and DMC; Improved Rates: obtaining the best commercial rates
available.
The PQI program uniquely links payment for hospital services to
specific and measurable improvements in actual patient outcomes. CHCC
meets quarterly with DMC to review its performance, including reductions
in mortality rates and hospital-acquired infections and compliance with
treatment protocols of proven clinical benefit.
CHCC member organizations and eligible non-members with plan
beneficiaries in Modesto may obtain an evaluation copy of the PQI
program and Model Agreement, upon signing and returning a
Mutual
Non-disclosure Agreement. Claims may also be re-priced as part of this
evaluation.
