Mission and Goals
The California Health Care Coalition is a membership organization of
private and public sector employers, unions and health and welfare trust
funds determined to improve the quality of health care services and
reduce costs without losing benefits.
Our goals include:
Bringing management and labor together to require full
accountability from the health industry for the dollars we spend and
the quality of care we receive;
Achieving specific, measurable improvements in the quality and
cost of California health care services through negotiations with
selected health plans, hospitals and medical groups;
Informing our members and the general public about medically
questionable variations in the utilization, quality and price of
health care services and identifying providers responsible for poor
performance and unjustified costs;
Helping our members select local hospitals and doctors that
offer the highest quality care for their specific conditions.
